Christopher Leonard Wiebelt, age 66, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5th, 2024.
He was born on August 27th, 1958 to the late Andrew H. Wiebelt and Roseclaire McNamara Wiebelt. Chris was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School, Class of 1976. After high school he attended the University of New Orleans where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting. As a CPA his career led him to become a Controller for several companies. He loved his work and gave it his all until his retirement a few years ago. Chris and his wife, Udean, built a beautiful life together raising two beautiful girls and eventually settled in Baton Rouge. Chris valued family and spending time together. He created many memorable trips and experiences for his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel, and he loved history and made sure that every vacation had at least one educational experience included. He stayed busy making sure that his family was well cared for and always put the needs and wishes of his family above his own.
He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew Henry Wiebelt and Roseclaire McNamara Wiebelt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Udean Babin Wiebelt; his children, Brittany Bradfield (Brian), Katie Ganucheau (Chris), Christopher Cain (Laura); his grandchildren, Lilly Redmond, Lorelai Redmond, Ian Bradfield, Levi Bradfield, Lucas Bradfield, Grace Bradfield, Mabel Ganucheau, Jolie Ganucheau, Christopher Cain, Jr., Basil Cain, Robert Cain, Vittoria Cain, Casimir Cain and Alexander Cain.
Honorary Pallbearers include Andy Wiebelt, David Wiebelt, Mike Drufner, Barry Drufner, Doug Drufner, Chris Cain, Elliot Noble, Richard Wiebelt, Chris Ganucheau, and Brian Bradfield.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Baton Rouge General and Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital who have shared their compassion, love, and support during our journey.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 13th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home at 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816. The Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Legacy Room at Resthaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial gift to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
