Christopher Robert Parker passed away recently at the age of 65. Born on October 13, 1958 in Waterbury, CT, Chris grew up in Connecticut and Illinois, where he graduated from Plainfield High School immediately before moving to Baton Rouge with his family at the age of 17. He lived in Baton Rouge for the remainder of his life. He attended Louisiana State University and was a retiree of the Louisiana Department of State Civil Service, having worked there for 30 years. 

Chris is survived by his sister Julianne Parker and her husband Bret Corum, of Dallas, TX; his brother Robert Parker and his wife Wendy Holden-Parker, of Baton Rouge; his sister Charlotte Parker of Sacramento, CA; his brother Garrett Parker of Mandeville; his nephew Lee Parker of Mount Pleasant, MI; his nephew Sean Parker of New Orleans; and his niece Lara Parker of Vancouver, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Parker of Baton Rouge.  

Chris will be remembered for his commitment to his parents, helping care for them in their final years, his passionate devotion to animals, especially to his beloved dog Bugs, and his avid enthusiasm for sport shooting and weaponry.

 Chris’ remains will be cremated per his family’s wishes. A memorial service celebrating his life will be scheduled at a later date.
