Christina M. Bonanno,
passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Christina Tina Maranto Bonanno was born on December 25, 1913 to Sam and Camella Maranto. Tina is 100 years old.
Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Vincent Bonanno son, Patrick Bonanno, former Baton Rouge Chief of Police parents, Sam and Camella Maranto 8 brothers, Frank, Phillip, Vincent, Paul, Sam, Joe, Anthony and RB Maranto and 3 sisters, Marie Maranto Lewis, Lucile and Camella Maranto.
Tina is survived by her 2 daughters, Bonnie Bonanno East and husband Douglas, Carmen Bonanno Scully and husband Donald son, Gary Bonanno and wife Laura Shelly, wife of Patrick Bonanno 14 grandchildren, Blaine East, Suzette East Novosad and husband Byron, Clark East and David East and wife Cheryl, Leigh Bonanno, Blake Bonanno Black and husband Brandon, Brandin Bonanno Brewer and husband Kevin, and Bryan Bonanno Provenzano and husband Matthew and Kirk Kepper, Kraig Kepper and Cherie Bonanno, Yvette Bonanno Tharp and husband Walter, Chad Bonanno, Christopher Bonanno 26 greatgrandchildren, Jamie, Jonathan, Brendan, Jason, Mathew, Jacilyn, Ashley, Blair, Tiffany, Norman, Patrick, Clayton, Kirby, Stewart, Jordan, Kennon, Kruze, Sutton, Hudson, Brennan, McNeil, Conner, Taylor, Christina, Margaret Belle and Brittany and 6 greatgreat grandchildren, Jack, Taylor Clark, Tory, Taylor Leigh, Spencer and Payton brother, Louis and two sistersinlaw, Marie Maranto and Angie Maranto.
Tina was also known to all family and friends as Mommie or Ms B. Mommies greatest legacy is her love for her family and friends. Mommies greatest joy was cooking. At age 100, Tina still had a sharp wit and good sense of humor. She loved LSU football and was one of LSUs oldest fans. Special Thanks to, Deborah Reyes for the devoted care she gave to Mommie, Dr Leo Blaize, Dr Todd Howell and St Joseph Hospice.
Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette at 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, conducted by Father Cleo Milano. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Kirk Kepper, Kraig Kepper, Blaine East, Clark East, David East, and Dr. Todd Howell.
