Cheryl Roberts Davis, age 56, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 27th, 2021; at her home of complications of diabetes. She is survived by her two children who made up the entirety of her world, Meghan and James, along with James Bryan Davis her friend, former husband and father of her children. She was born on August 7th, 1964, to the late Darrell Roberts and Louise Roberts in Raleigh, North Carolina. Five years later she moved to Louisiana with her family and then her love for Louisiana began. Cheryl was a 1982 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School in Clemson, South Carolina. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Louisiana State University in 1986. She wed Jim Davis in 1992 and was married for 22 years. They lived together in Mandeville, Louisiana before relocating to Cypress, Texas. In 2018 Cheryl moved back to what she called “home”- Louisiana.
Cheryl started her finance career at Texaco, Inc. in New Orleans, LA and ended her career at Ankor Energy. Her and her family then moved to Cypress, TX. During her time in Cypress, she dedicated her time to LSU Houston Alumni Association and practicing her love of finance by volunteering for Treasurer for the chapter. She put many hours into volunteering at her children’s school by being treasurer of PTO and helping with Junior Achievement. She also spent many hours volunteering with her daughter through National Charity League also being treasurer.
Cheryl is also survived by her mother, Louise Roberts, of Clemson, South Carolina; and her two brothers Greg Roberts, of Columbia, South Carolina; and Chris Roberts, of Greenville, South Carolina. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Cheryl was immensely proud of her children and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
