Charlyne Annie Goitia

Charlyne Annie Goitia was born/died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:43 in the afternoon measuring 19.5 inches long and tipping the scale at 6 pounds 6 ounces. Affectionately referred to as "Charleigh" by loved ones, she touched the lives of all who knew her and all whom were awaiting her arrival. As an IVF baby, Charleigh battled a complicated journey from the start alongside her devoted parents, Ryan and Sam Goitia. In addition to her parents she is survived by her brother, Wyatt. 

Wyatt fell asleep the night before hugging Sam's belly talking to Charleigh as she kicked and moved. Just as he spent the pregnancy protecting and looking out for his sister (not allowing Sam to lift anything on his watch, policing the conversation, etc.); Ryan & Sam have prayed that Charleigh be Wyatt's (and any future siblings') guardian angel.

During the time we were able to hold Charleigh in her angelic state, family and friends flooded in to hold and cherish her. We are so grateful for those precious moments with our daughter that will be forever in our hearts.

It is our wish that Charleigh's passing provide life to others. In Charleigh's honor, Sam is pumping milk to donate to the milk bank, which supplies the NICU.

"She was born silent into this world,

But her little life spoke volumes."

We would like to thank the touching influx of support from our loved ones, the medical teams at BR General, and the community. Your outreach has warmed our hearts and given tribute to our sweet baby girl. Thank you to all for the visits, calls, texts, letters, flowers, packages, and prayers. We have been carried by your loving support.

There will be a memorial celebration for Charleigh on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 12pm to 3pm at the Estuary at The Water Campus, 1110 River Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
