Charlotte Long Merchant, age 92, a resident of Centennial, Colorado, passed away on August 12, 2022. Charlotte will be remembered as a gracious and loving woman who touched the lives of many and was touched by the lives of many more. She was born in Big Sandy, Texas. She grew up mostly in Melville, Louisiana. She was the oldest of ten children. Charlotte married Burton Merchant, a geophysicist in 1952, and followed him first through the oil patch in Texas then on to Venezuela, Libya, Ohio, Singapore and Indonesia. They returned from overseas to live in Houston, Texas and then retired in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Charlotte could never pick a favorite place that she lived, because the people in those places were what made them special to her. She deeply loved her family and friends. Charlotte will be dearly missed by her daughter, Randi McVay, her son-in-law Charles McVay, granddaughter Abigail McVay, and a multitude of family and friends.
