Charles Willson

Charles A. Willson (Charlie), born June 12, 1940 in Orange County, California, passed away on January 5, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his father Adrian Bruce Willson, mother Ella Mae Willson and brother Adrian Bruce Willson, Jr.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gail L. Willson; daughter, Paige A. Willson and son-in-law Matthew Schlief; son, Brent C. Willson and daughter-in-law Julie; daughter Kelly Hackworth and son-in-law Matt; his brother Bob Willson and sister-in-law Sue; grandsons Sam and Charlie Hackworth and Nathan Willson, and granddaughter Kate Willson.

He was a graduate of North High School in Columbus, Ohio and The Ohio State University, where he received Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Mining Engineering and Business Administration. Charlie had a fervent passion for working in the community where he was a great role model, mentor and friend.

Charlie was an inspiration to the many who knew and loved him. His dry wit, sarcastic comments and rustic exterior enclosed the most incredibly kind heart and he will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 3:00 pm until memorial services at 5:00 pm.
