A native of Shreveport, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA he passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the age of 83. A veteran of the United States Army Air Force who enjoyed genealogy, photography, history of the Civil War and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed gardening, building in his workshop and loved downtown Baton Rouge. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary H. Sutton two daughters, Cindy Murphy and husband Don, and Chrissie Sutton and husband Leif Fjeldsjo one son, Charles Chuck Sutton, Jr. and wife Geri lovingly referred to as daughter 3 seven grandchildren, Ashley, Aimee, Taylor, Collin, Christopher, Riley and Rowan and two sisters, Georgia and Janice. Preceded in death by his parents, Lavell and Rosa Mae Sutton and brother, Robert Sutton. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 1 pm until funeral service at 3:30 pm officiated by Reverend Carl Kelly from The Freedom Church. The family would like to thank Doctors, David Fontenot, Rohan Walvekar, Denzil Moraes The Baton Rouge General Medical Center and St. Josephs Hospice, especially Jane, Trygve, Rebecca, Ila, Susan, Chris, Patricia, Carla H., Carla S., and Margaret.
