Charles Scott Schoenbrodt of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 83. He was a graduate of Istrouma High School in 1958 and later graduated from Louisiana State University College of Business in 1964. Over his 38-year career in management for the electrical distribution industry he worked for several companies including Nunn Electric, GE, CED, and Automation Control.
Charles had great devotion to his nation and served his country in the United States Army.
He was a long-time member of Parkview Baptist Church where he and his wife would attend regularly.
Charles loved playing tennis and was a long-time member of the Shenandoah Country Club and Bocage Racket Club. He was an avid LSU fan and regularly attended football, basketball, and baseball games. He prioritized spending time with his family and enjoyed family gatherings, especially being with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Anthony Schoenbrodt and Maria Scott Schoenbrodt; and his sister, Peggy Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bertie Kennedy Schoenbrodt; daughter, Tricia Schoenbrodt Arroyo; son, Roy Scott Schoenbrodt his wife Melissa Sue Schoenbrodt; grandchildren, Joshua Scott Arroyo, Noah Enrique Arroyo, Emily Lynn Schoenbrodt, and Kennedy Sue Schoenbrodt; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Ollie who went above and beyond to provide extra special care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Legacy Room at Resthaven.
