Charles Dale Ramirez

A beloved husband and father, Charles Dale Ramirez was born April 11, 1928 and died on December 15, 2014 with family by his side. He was 86.
A retired President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau in Baton Rouge, he was a sixth generation descendant of settlers from the Canary Islands. Known as Islenos, they settled at Valenzuela located 15 miles southeast of Donaldsonville. Dale was the youngest of three children. He was born in Garyville, LA in 1928, a resident of Donaldsonville from 1932 to 1936 and a resident of Baton Rouge since 1936. He volunteered in the US Army in February 1946 serving the occupation of forces in Japan. He was a 1944 graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, and graduated in 1950 from Louisiana State University where he received a degree in chemistry and was a member of the Theta Kappa Phi Fraternity. Dale was devoted to his faith and was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was also a member of and active in the Downtown Baton Rouge Lions Club. Dale was quiet by nature, but the twinkle of his eyes reflected the happiness, warmth, and thoughtfulness of his heart. He always remembered family and friends with greeting cards, newspaper clippings, a visit, or a phone call. He was a hard worker had a great work ethic and passed that on to his children. He enjoyed LSU sports and traveling. He delved into genealogy. His greatest delight was dancing whenever and wherever the opportunity arose. Those he leaves behind will continue the dance.
He is survived by his spouse of 20 years, Beverly Faye Hamilton Ramirez and his children and grandchildren, daughter, Donna L. Ramirez sons, C. Michael Ramirez and spouse, Patricia, and their children, Ryan and Ross David K. Ramirez and partner, Craig Brock Gary J. Ramirez and spouse, Carol, and their children, Emma and Abigail of Concord, CA and John D. Ramirez and daughter, Isabella of Alameda, CA. Survived by the children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren of his wife Faye sons, Robert Kleinpeter and spouse, Sherri, and son, Lee Greg Kleinpeter and spouse, Donna, and children, Tom, Matt and Beth David Kleinpeter and spouse, Wendy, and children, Dustin Kleinpeter spouse, Adele, and children, Warren and Addison, Clair Kleinpeter Weisse spouse, Lambert, and daughter, Emma Faye, and Jordan Carl Kleinpeter and wife, Brigitte, and children, Michael Kleinpeter spouse Stephanie, Alli Landry and Josh Riley Brian Kleinpeter and daughters, Kari and Chloe and daughters, Amy Kleinpeter Grissom and husband, Wes, and children, Garrett and Kaitlyn Grissom and Laurie Kleinpeter Laville and husband, Duke, and children, Henry, Hannah and Louis Laville. Survived by the children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren of his late wife, Mary Louise, daughter, Allison West Claudet and children, Christopher Claudet, spouse, Danielle and daughter, Wren and Jennifer Claudet Fontenot spouse, Joey and sons, Bill West, spouse, Charlin, and children, Taylor West daughter, Ashlin, Daniel, and Sydnie David West and spouse, Tammy, and children, Amy and Robert Lee West and spouse, Marybeth, and children, Alex, Emily and Kristen Braud Wilcox spouse, Adam and son, Ian. Survived by loving cousins, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews.
Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Paul Ramirez and Edna Hernandez Ramirez and maternal grandparents, Charles Gaudin and Athalia Landry Gaudin by his parents, Maurice J. Ramirez and Marie Felicie Fel Gaudin Ramirez by his sister, Felicie Fay Guidry and brother, Maurice J. Riecy Ramirez, Jr. and by his wife of 15 years, Mary Louise Beadle Ramirez of Morgan City.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on Friday, December 19 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 20 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., starting with visitation at 9:00 am until religious services at 10:30 am. Father Walsh will celebrate the mass. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Gary Ramirez, Ross Ramirez, Carl Kleinpeter, Greg Kleinpeter, David West and Lee West.The family would like to thank Dales healthcare providers during the past 2 years Claudia Lang, Cynthia Wilson, Lisa and Paris Rodney, Veronica Smith and Carlette Burrell, and Ms. Nita Vincent of Hospice of Baton Rouge. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Services of the Capital Area on North Blvd., the Lions Club or to Catholic High School.
