Charles David Oswald

Charles D. Oswald (Chuck) passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the age of 52.  He was born May 19, 1971, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Charles “David” Oswald and Betty Duhe’ Oswald. A graduate of Belaire High School, Chuck served in the United States Navy before finding a career as the Director of Slot Operations at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Melissa L. Oswald; his parents, David and Betty Oswald; his sons, Brandon Oswald (Candace), and Mason Oswald (Wendy); and his sister, Jan Rodrigue (Lonnie) He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Larry and Sandra Lawrence; his sisters-in-law, Nicole Townsend (Cory) and Tiffany Lawrence; his nieces and nephews and his many friends.

Chuck enjoyed cooking, golfing, listening to music and taking part in karaoke. He also enjoyed vacationing at the beach, but most of all Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Maverick.

The family invites friends and extended family to a Visitation on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the 6^th floor staff and ICU staff at Baton Rouge General Hospital and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice
