Charles L. "Rusty" Hebert Jr., age 92, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 26, 2019. Rusty graduated from University High School and attended LSU. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Rusty spent his career in the banking business, retiring from Hibernia Bank and was a former president of the Louisiana Mortgage Bankers Association.
Rusty is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Bourgeois Hebert.
Survived by his sister Marion "Joy" James; sister-in-law, Pam Esnard and husband Rickey; two sons, Charles L. "Chuck" Hebert III and wife Joanie, and Blane L. Hebert; and daughter Yolande Dutel, and husband Thomas; six grandchildren, Christopher Hebert, Holly Hebert Campesi and husband Nicholas, Patrick Hebert, Ashley Dutel, Taylor Dutel, and Travis Dutel and wife Margot; three great granddaughters, Layla Hebert, Camille and Claire Campesi.
The family of Rusty wishes to thank his caregivers Pearl West, Taushica Traylor, and Daphne Caldwell for their dedicated and devoted care. Also, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at The Blake at The Grove. All of their staff, nurses and aides went above and beyond to comfort Rusty over the past 15 months. Although he appreciated the entire staff, close to his heart was Laura Deshotel. Additionally, we would like to thank Carmen Yenni and her associates with Hospice of Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 1:00 pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Hebert, Patrick Hebert, Nicholas Campesi, Travis Dutel, Taylor Dutel and Mitchell Naquin.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to OLOL Children’s Hospital.
