A retired international marketer, he bravely fought stage 4 renal cancer for 38 months until his death on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 72, a U.S. Army veteran and a native of Kansas City, Mo. A private family service will be held. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rae Corns; a daughter, Lynn Michelle and husband Gregory Clark Rohrback, of New Iberia; and a son, Charles Edwin Corns Jr., of Chillicothe, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Albert and Aida Jane Corns. He was an All-American swimmer at Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in international finance from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., and was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity. He completed his post-graduate work at the University of Houston in Clear Lake City, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation Inc., Charles E.
