Champ Breeden

October 25, 1942 — January 9, 2022

Champ Patrick Breeden, known as Grumps to his grandsons, passed away Jan. 9, 2022. Champ was born on Oct. 25, 1942 to Champ Junior Breeden and Pauline Efferson Breeden. He married Mary Ortis in 1966. He was a Vietnam veteran and Navy reservist with Special Boat Unit 22 for 30 years and retired as a Chief. Champ worked for Ethel for 16 years, then at the age of 45 became an electrician. He retired from Jefferson parish.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and shooting.  Champ was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He was unfiltered and fun and never met anyone he didn’t make friends with.

He is survived by his spouse of 55 years, Mary; daughters, Dawn and spouse Ron Comesana, Wendy Breeden and partner Tim Burks, and grandchildren, Conner, Ethan, and Owen Comesana.

Champ was preceded in death by his sister, Tanis McCranie.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, January 22, 2022 beginning at 9:00am until services at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Resthaven Garden of Memory.
