Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Cecil Walter Campbell was loved by all who met him. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Forrest City, Arkansas. He died peacefully at his residence on January 2, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was 74 years of age. Cecil was a Korean War Veteran US Air Force Airman First Class. He was a member of American Legion post 0038. He was employed as a truck driver and mechanic for over 44 years. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Ollie M. Campbell, 5 daughters and 7 sons, Belinda Campbell, Collette Brooks and her husband Larry, Nina Campbell, Gaynell Campbell, Thomas Campbell and his wife Tammie, Paula Campbell and Brian Campbell 6 granchildren, Kelly Campbell and his wife Alicia, Kyle Campbell, Michael Campbell, Ryan Brooks, Brett Brooks and Lauren Sweetie Brooks. Also, survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Preceded in death by parents, Tom and Hattie Campbell, son, Paul Campbell, grandsons, Adam Wes and Joseph Joey Achille Campbell. Also, preceded by one brother and one sister. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, January 4th from 5pm8pm. Visiting resumes at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5th at 10am until the service at 12pm. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Mark Shelton, Kelly Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Michael Campbell, Ryan Brooks, and Brett Brooks. Honorary Pallbearer is Paul Trabeau. Special thanks to Enbridge and St. Joseph Hospice. Donations may be made to the charity, St. Josephs Hospice, in his memory.
