A housewife, resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:19 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, from oral cancer at her home. She was 86. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Henry W. Gautreau Jr., celebrant. She is survived by three daughters, Cathy Safft, Chris Jackson and Eileen Mathis; a son, Tommy Hebert; a brother, George Southwick; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Hebert. Pallbearers will be Matt and Charlie Hebert, Guy, Ben and Peter Davis, Michael Slone, Jacob Mathis and Clif Davis. She was a cheerleader for Catholic High and a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. She loved gardening, enjoyed long rides in the country, but most of all her family. Special thanks to In His Care Hospice for their care and assistance, especially Kim, Alicia, Pierre and Beth.
