Carolyn Sessions

Alice Carolyn Smith Sessions peacefully passed on February 10, 2023, at the age of 72.  She was born November 12, 1950, in Springhill, Louisiana to the late Dalton Thomas Smith and Velma Katherine Modisette.

Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Jimmy Thomas Sessions; her son Blane Sessions and his wife, Jaynel; grandchildren Catherine, Hollis, and Christian; her sister Velma and brother Milton; as well as countless other family, friends and former students.

Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and educator. She taught countless students at the LSU Laboratory School and later impacting the lives of students through the Louisiana Department of Education.

Carolyn will be greatly missed by all.  Her love of family, gardening, traveling and all things LSU will be fondly remembered by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.  A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
