Carolyn Lucas

Carolyn C. Lucas, age 83, a resident of Greenwell Springs, Central, LA, passed away on January 16, 2019.

Carolyn retired from teaching with the EBRP School Board after 25 years. She was a native of Little Texas/Labadieville, LA, a graduate of Assumption High School and USL, Lafayette and a member of Tri-Sigma Sorority. She was married to Larry R. Lucas for almost 35 years until he passed away in 1993. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Community Gardener Garden Club. Carolyn also spent her retired years traveling all over the world.

Carolyn is survived by her three children: Lisa Williams, Neal and wife Heidi Lucas, and Susan Lucas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Mary Carrier, William John and Jerilyn Carrier, Ronnie and Carla Carrier, Barry and Carol Carrier, and Pat Carrier; her 2 grandchildren, Ashton Lucas and Lauren Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Lucas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace A. Carrier, Jr.; and her brother, Wallace Carrier, Jr.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 1:00 pm until services at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be J. Neal Lucas, Dubby Carrier, Ronnie Carrier, Gerald Carrier, Barry Carrier, and Reid Brian.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society in Carolyn Lucas’ name.

The family of Carolyn Lucas wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. McCanless, Dr. Vinci, Dr. Hemke, The Crossing at Clarity Hospice Center, and Blackwater United Methodist Church. A special thanks to Betty Lee, Danita Lee, and Eva London who cared for Carolyn in her last months on earth.
