Carolyn Ann Hahn

Carolyn Ann Hahn passed away in her home on January 17, 2025, at the age of 86. Carolyn was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 2, 1938, the only child of Lillian and Edward Schoulin. She was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. 

While attending Bowling Green University, Carolyn met Delbert “Del” Worthington Hahn, the love of her life. They were married on June 22, 1959. Del and Carolyn first lived in Toledo, Ohio, where their daughter Jannean was born, and then Jacksonville, FL, where their son David was born. They then lived in New Orleans before settling in Baton Rouge. Carolyn managed the private practice of Dr. Joseph Lamendola until she retired. 

Beyond raising their two children, Del and Carolyn dabbled in Quarter horses and enjoyed a lifetime of travel, making more than 30 trips to Europe where they enjoyed visiting countries from their heritage. They enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren, taking many unique trips across the United States. Carolyn was known for her travel research and planning, and her family and friends made many joyous trips based on her recommendations. Her children and grandchildren always enjoyed traveling with their parents and grandparents. Carolyn was an avid bridge player throughout her life, including playing in several groups well into her 80s. Carolyn was unwavering in her positive outlook on life and was a diehard New Orleans Saints fan. Many beloved memories.

Carolyn is survived by her children and their spouses, Jannean and Kevin Garrett and David and Allison Hahn; seven grandchildren, Holly (Lee) Bourgeois, Gabe (Diana) Garrett, Robin (Brett) Hokamp, Andrew (Hannah) Garrett, Katherine (Fernando) Nussenbaum, William Hahn, Mary-Margaret Hahn; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Del; her parents, Lillian and Edward Schoulin; her sister Evelyn Long; and her grandson, David Neal Garrett. 

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
