Carolyn Brown-Murtes

Carolyn Nicholson Brown Murtes was taken from us unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes in the funeral home chapel Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Blanchard, celebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She was 57 years young, a native of Plaucheville and resident of Baton Rouge for 40 years. She will be remembered as the best mother a daughter could ask for, exceptional Gram, and a wonderful daughter and sister. She was a kind, loving, loyal and very generous person to all who knew her. She was the Rock of our family She was a faithful employee for Dr. Lurry D. Lacour for 35 years and was dearly loved by her co-workers and the patients. She is survived by her daughter, Marcie Brown; granddaughter, Alexa Miller; mother, Audrey Nicholson Travasos; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and J. E. Sharon; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Peggy Nicholson; identical twin sister, Marilyn, and Marilyn's family, Curt and Logan McCarty; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Nolan Thomas Nicholson; and stepfather, Robert Travasos.
