Carol Kight McInturf of Spring Hill, Tennessee died June 1, 2013 at the age of 62 surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born January 10, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Joseph Carroll Kight and Ethel Wiiliams Kight. She married John McInturf in Shreveport, LA on June 8, 1974. Carol served as a preschool teachers aide at Wedgewood Elementary School in Baton Rouge, before serving in the same capacity at the Jefferson Baptist Church PreSchool program. She and her husband retired in 2009 and moved to Spring Hill to be near their only daughter and soninlaw before the birth of their first grandchild. Carol was an active member at Jefferson Baptist Church of Baton Rouge where she sang in the choir, worked with young people and helped with the food closet. Following her move to Tennessee she became a member of Judson Baptist Church. She enjoyed being around her friends and family and had a way of bringing out the humor in everything. Carol is survived by her husband of 39 years, John McInturf her daughter and favorite soninlaw, April DiChiara and Benjamin DiChiara of Spring Hill, TN two precious grandchildren, Sophia DiChiara and Tag DiChiara her sisters Rusty Ingram of Atlanta, GA, Janet Kennedy of Atlanta, TX, and Yvonne Lumus, of Plain Dealing, LA one brother, Jack Benson of Natchez, MS numerous nieces and nephews she dearly loved and a host of wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ethel Kight both of Shreveport, LA her sisters Rose Zynn of Coatsville, PA and Penny Penick of New Orleans, LA. Presiding over the services will be her two brotherinlaws, Dr. Richard Blue, Pastor of Walker Baptist Church, Walker, LA and Dr. Chuck McInturf, Pastor of Woodridge Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Pallbears will be Steve Ingram, William King, David Miller, Len Conley, Eddie Cambell, Jim Monroe, Jody Babin, and Michael Blue. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 8:30 am until funeral service time at 10 am.
