A native of El Salvador and a resident of Prairieville, she passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011, at her home. She was 90 years old. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, June 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of a rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 La. 73, Prairieville, on Tuesday, June 7, from 9:30 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Highway, Metairie, on Tuesday, June 7, at 2 p.m. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Letourneau Michon and husband Patrick, and Carol Letourneau Blanchard and husband Robert sons, Ronald A. Letourneau and fiance Susan Knight, and Joseph N. Letourneau and wife Karen grandchildren, Stacy Rae Letourneau Kramer and husband Kyle, Ryan Patrick Michon and wife Kate, Carmen Marie Letourneau, Adam Joseph Letourneau and wife Heather, Christie Elizabeth Blanchard and fianc Christopher Jake White, Callie Angelle Blanchard and Amber Michelle Letourneau greatgrandchildren, Killian James Kramer and Kacy Rae Kramer sisters, Bertha Paz, Elena Porter and husband Glenn, and Marina Flores and husband Rafael. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. Letourneau father, Baltasar Zapata mother, Elena Rios grandson, Joseph Anthony Blanchard and siblings, Carlos Rios and Ana Maria Bardales. Carmen was a loving, courageous woman who had a wonderful sense of humor and always exhibited a sunny smile with a positive attitude. It has been said that the true mark of an individual is measured by the people they touch. She touched many. Her legacy will be remembered by these people and carried in their hearts always.
