Retired from the industrial supply business, he died at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 71, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Freeport, Texas. Survived by his wife, Jo Nell Bailey Rogers daughter, Kristi Elizabeth Rogers son, Carl Alan Rogers and wife Nancy four granddaughters, Marisa Nicole Rogers, Kelsey Marie Rogers, Alexis Blair Rogers and Victoria Elizabeth Rogers. Preceded in death by his parents, James Carl and Doris Mosher Rogers brother, James Anthony Rogers and sister, Virginia Rose Rogers Perkins. He was a graduate of Brazosport High School, Freeport, attended Wharton Junior College, Richmond, Texas, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, March 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial in New Grover Cemetery, Marshall, Texas, on Wednesday, March 23. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Hospice, the Carpenter House, 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
