Carl Katzenstein “Cub”, 81, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on May 8th, 2023 peacefully in his home. Carl was born on May 3rd, 1942 in Newton, New Jersey. He became a Chemical Engineer for ExxonMobil and stayed with the company for 40 years. Carl was an amazing man with a great sense of humor and could always be found wearing red socks. He lived a great life, and in his earlier years enjoyed flying planes and riding motorcycles. Later in life he dedicated his time to playing with the dogs and enjoying time with family. He never stopped engineering and would always find creative and innovative ways to solve problems around the house. He was admired not only for his intelligence, but also for his generosity. He never hesitated to help someone in need. He was a wonderful, devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; his twin children, Cole and Carley; and his siblings Carla Jean Sievert (John) and Annetta Amy Miller (Dennis). He is predeceased by his father, Carl Stotz Katzenstein; his mother, Annetta Amy Moyer; his brother, Gerald “Jerry” Katzenstein; and his special Aunt and Uncle, Marion and Donnie Moyer. There will be a visitation at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home on Sunday, May 21st from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with a service to follow. Carl will be deeply missed and forever loved.
