Calby V. James, Jr.,
December 16, 1928September 21, 2014. A 1948 graduate of Dutchtown High School and retiree of Copolymer DMS with 43 years of service. He served in The US Army in Fairbanks, Alaska from 19511953. Calby was an avid motorcyclist and race fan. He was a member of the AMA, NRA, and New River Lodge 402.
Calby is preceded in death by his father, Calby V. James, Sr. mother, Hattie Broussard James brother, Laddie L. James brotherinlaw, Edward DeLaune and nephew, Michael L. James. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Al Joe Hodgeson James daughter, Teri Casso and husband Coy son, Jamie James and Sondra Daigle three grandchildren, Abbigale James, Jamie Mayers, and Sheli Markham and husband Chris stepgranddaughter, Chelsi Casso three greatgrandchildren and sister, Billie James DeLaune. He was known as Pops to a number of children and grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 5:00 pm8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Mausoleum in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12 noon. Pallbearers will be Kenny Casso, Delton Fairbanks, George Fairbanks, Stuart Roberts, Edward DeLaune, Martin Buddy Broussard, and Doug Crawford.
