A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Flannery Oaks. She was 79, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Summit, Miss. She was a retired career administrative secretary with the Louisiana Department of Labor. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Nov. 7, from 1 p.m. until graveside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Phil Woodland. Survived by her husband of 56 years of marriage, Harold Pilcher Sr.; daughter, Cheryl Kent and husband Tracy, of Pride; son, Hal Pilcher and wife Julie, of St. Francisville; sister, Ellen Mustacchia and husband Jack; brother, Charles Childers Sr.; four grandchildren, Derek Luckett and wife Kacie, Dreher Kent, Hallie Pilcher and Ross Pilcher; and great-granddaughter, Dalton Luckett. Preceded in death by her parents, Murray E. Sr. and Carrie J. Childers; sister, Mary Jane White; and brother, Murray E. Childers Jr. She was a member of the University United Methodist Church.
