Burton John Beadle, age 96, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on July 18, 2017.
Burton was a veteran of the United States Navy and World War II. He was also a longtime member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and Sunday school teacher for 41 years. He participated in the Senior Olympics and was a national champion in the javelin throw twice.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marion Bailey Beadle; five children, David Beadle, Brian Beadle, Bill Brent, Jeanie Beadle Staples and husband Joey, and Holly Beadle Hallum and husband Trent; grandchildren, Monique Brumbach (Joshua), Ben Beadle, Elizabeth Mason (Mark), Eric Staples (Jennifer), Aimee Fitzgerald (Kyle), Anna Merrill (Bo), and Taylor Hallum (Emily); and nine great-grandchildren.
Burton is preceded in death by his parents, Rosemond and Egla Beadle; five brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Dr, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 9:30am until funeral service at 11:00am, conducted by Rev. Donnie Wilkinson and Rev. Ken Carroll. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be David Beadle, Brian Beadle, Bill Brent, Trent Hallum, Joey Staples, and Taylor Hallum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Broadmoor United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
