Bruce Alan Thomas, age 64, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on April 29, 2021. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico where his dad L.C. Thomas was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base. As a child he lived in Panama City Florida, Bowling Green Kentucky, and Birmingham Alabama. It was in Birmingham where he attended Irondale Junior High School and graduated from Shades Valley High school in 1974.
He went on to play basketball and graduated with a BS in Business from the University of Montevallo in 1980. He was a proud member of Lamda Chi Alpha and has remained close with his fraternity brothers.
In 1988 he married the love of his life, Ellen Kissel Thomas of Winter Park Florida. They had 2 beautiful children that were the pride of his life; Nathan Allen Thomas and Mary Kate Thomas Knight.
He was currently employed as a South Regional Sales Manager for Celeros Flow Technology. He previously spent nearly 25 years working for Goulds Pumps.
Bruce is survived by Ellen, his two children Nathan Alan Thomas (Emily) and Mary Kate (Patrick); two sisters Lisa Thomas Armstrong (Jimmy) and Sara Thomas Foust (Jud); his mother Mary Thomas Lunsford and Bonus father M.A. Lunsford of Birmingham, Alabama; Grandchildren Lucas Roger Thomas (11), Luther Lee Knight (2 1/2); Thatcher Thomas Knight (9 months); also his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Luther Comer Thomas Jr; Paternal grandparents Luther Comer Sr and Gladys Thomas of Glasgow Kentucky; Maternal grandparents Lloyd and Sara Greene of Cave City, Kentucky.
A Celebration of life service is to be held in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, May 29th, location to be determined.
