Bruce C. Babb

August 18, 1952 — February 20, 2024

Bruce Babb, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born in Belton, Texas on August 18, 1952, to parents, Billy and Marie Babb.

He was an avid LSU Tiger fan. He attended & graduated from LSU in 1974 with a chemical engineering degree. Bruce had a long and productive career of 41 years with BASF as a chemical engineer manager. He enjoyed working with his team members & mentoring new employees. 

He loved to worship & serve his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church where he served as deacon, choir member & teacher of Bible classes with the youth. 

Bruce’s hobbies & interests included Bible studies, reading, singing in a barbershop quarter, singing solos for the Lord & songs in the church choir, spending time with his son, daughter-in-law & four amazing grandkids, and going on nature walks & drives.  He will be remembered as a faithful and loving husband, father & grandad.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Marie Babb and sister, Denise.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Babb; his son Brent Babb and wife Mande Babb; his 4 grandchildren, Ashtyn, Josiah, Isaiah and Eisley Babb; brother Kevin Babb and wife Carol Babb; nephew Nathan Babb; and niece Rachel Babb.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. in Baton Rouge, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, beginning at 1:00pm. The service will begin at 2:30 pm and burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Josiah Babb, Isaiah Babb, Rob Boling, Chris Crocker, John Becnel, and Jeff Selleck.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate to the Parkinson's Foundation or to Istrouma Baptist Church.
