A resident of Pride, he died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, after losing a 10year battle with cancer. He was 79, a native of Port Allen and born in New Orleans. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired as a purchasing agent at the age of 62. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Virgie S. Chauvin daughters, Debra McKnight, and Norma Fryoux and husband Kurt sons, Brooks Chauvin III, and Frank Chauvin and wife Ellen sisters and brothersinlaw, Joy and Clinest King, Margaret Falcon, and Juanita and Rocky DeBenedetto brother and sisterinlaw, Dale and Joy Chauvin 10 grandchildren, Kelly, B.J., Haley, Margie, Ashley, Lauren, Lindsey, Logan, Luke and Leah two stepgrandchildren, Hannah and Hayden and two greatgrandchildren, Skyler and Carley. Preceded in death by his parents, Brooks and Inez Brignac Chauvin. Pallbearers will be Brooks, Frank, B.J., Luke, Steve and Randall. Honorary pallbearer is Kurt.
