Bret Anselmo

Bret Anselmo, age 40, native and resident of Baton Rouge passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 unexpectedly due to complications from surgery. He is a graduate of Bishop Sullivan and Southeastern Louisiana University. Bret worked for Angelle Donohue Oil Gas Properties. He was a former AAU girls basketball coach and a basketball coach for St. Johns Catholic School in Plaquemine, SJV Gators, and St. Michaels Warriors. He loved playing and watching sports with his friends and gathering with his family. Bret was an amazing dad to his son, Cohen, who he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phyllis and Joseph R. Murphy, Lucille and Joe Anselmo. Survivors include: son, Cohen Murphy Anselmo and his mother Brooke Joffrion and her son Lex mother, Jane Murphy Anselmo and Bruce Wright father Randy Anselmo and wife Judy sister, Brandi Anselmo brother, Brock Anselmo and wife Britney nephew, Storme and niece Joaney.

Visiting hours will be observed Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 48pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Visiting hours will resume Monday, October 6, 2014 from 911am at Resthaven. Funeral services will be Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Storme Harris, Jason Payne, Aaron Page, Ryan Mason, Chase Hull, Chuck Quartararo, Brent Yokley, Drew Hart, and Brady Sessums. Interment and graveside services will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
