Bonnie Dixon

July 23, 1927 — March 4, 2011

A devoted sister, aunt, friend and faithful servant of the Lord, she passed away on Friday, March 04, 2011 at 6:30am. She was a retired school teacher and a retired employee with the State Group Benefits. She was a native of Hope Villa, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church and a present member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School teacher at both Parkview Baptist Church and Florida Boulevard Baptist Church. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 4pm until 7pm. Visiting will resume at the funeral home on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 9am until service at 11am, conducted by Dr. Randy Johnson. Internment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. She is survived by her sisters, Elva D. Wheat, Dorothy D. Guins, Hilda R. Dixon, Loretta D. Brignac brothers, Rev. Miner R. Dixon, Vernon L. Dixon as well as numerous devoted nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. Dixon and Bonnie K. Dixon sisters, Eva D. Sholar, Estelle Dixon and brothers, John Dixon, Malcolm Dixon and Aubrey Dixon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Louisiana College in Pineville PO Box 587, Pineville, LA. 71359 or to Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 372140800.
