Robert K. "Bobby" Brown, age 59, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017.
Bobby graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and attended Louisiana State University. Bobby was the State Runner Up in wrestling for the individual competition and served an integral role to propel Catholic High School to their historic State Championship Title in 1975. Bobby Brown had an impressive career as a Research Technician at DOW Chemical. He worked at DOW for 37 years, earning numerous rewards and recognitions. He retired from DOW in June 2016.
Bobby married Carla on August 23rd, 1986 and remained a devoted husband throughout his life. Bobby was a great son as well as an extremely caring and loving father. Bobby was well known for his magnetic and outgoing personality, his passion for LSU sports, his fondness for the beach and building amazing sand castles, always watching old black and white movies, going fishing at the camp, and being a great dancer.
Bobby is survived by Carla, his loving wife of 30 years; his son, Robert; his daughter, Britney; his father, Emmett J. Brown, Jr.; his brother, Michael "Bug" Brown; and his two sisters, Tara Lemoine and Sallyanna Brown.
Bobby is preceded in death by his mother, Sally Ratelle Brown.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, May 5th, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (family members from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm). Visitation will resume at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St George Dr, Baton Rouge, LA on May 6th, 2017 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. The funeral mass will take place at St. George Catholic Church on May 6th, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Michael Brown, Eric Breaux, Oscar Martinez, Stan Lemoine, Randy Johnson, Mike Humble, and David Hannaman.
