Bobbie Nell Sparkman Dubois
Born July 6, 1934 in Baton Rouge and current resident of Ventress, Bobbie passed away October 8, 2014 at 4:40 pm at Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans at the age of 80.
A longtime member of Weller Avenue Baptist Church and current member of First Baptist Church New Roads, Bobbie will forever be remembered for her beautiful singing voice that touched people in so many different ways.
She is survived by her children Reverend Randall Dubois and wife Beth of Huntington, Indiana and daughter JNell Mix and husband Kenneth of Ventress. Four granddaughters Bethany Dubois, Julia Dubois Schwartz, Karen Mix and Ashley Mix and great granddaughter Abigail Schwartz. Bobbie is also survived by her two brothers Louis Sparkman and wife Joyce of Zachery and Willie Sparkman and wife Sue of Walker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Berle Joseph Joe Dubois, daughter Lori Dubois Morales, parents Arthur and Olive Sparkman as well as her sisters Dorothy and Doris June and brothers Jimmy and Danny.
Bobbie Nell was a retired school secretary for over 30 years with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System with 24 years of dedicated service to Belaire High School. Go Bengals Bobbie was also a dedicated cast member of the Disney Store in Baton Rouge for 15 years, where she greeted people with a smile and showed her youthful enthusiasm for all things Disney.
Visitation will be held on Sunday evening October 12, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm. and on Monday, October 13, at First Baptist Church, 824 W Main Street, New Roads from 10 am until funeral service at 11 am conducted by the Rev. Jason McNaughtan.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks for all the prayers lifted up and calls of concern extended. We know Bobbie Nell is singing in Gods heavenly choir which gives us peace in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Pallbearers will be David Carpenter, Gary Carpenter honorary, Randall Dubois, Kenny Mix, Art Sparkman, Louis Sparkman and Willie Sparkman.
