Blanche Segura

Blanche Dickinson Bankston Segura, age 96, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 25, 2019.  She was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana and graduated from Pioneer High School and then Louisiana Tech before moving to Baton Rouge to work at Standard Oil (Exxon).  She was married to Ray P. Bankston, Sr., until his death and later married Marnell A. Segura, Sr.  She loved her church and church family at Ingleside Methodist.  Blanche loved to play golf and watch golf on TV.  She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, painter and an avid bridge player.

Blanche is preceded in death by her parents Dennis L Dickinson Sr. and her mother Sarah Blanche Greer Dickinson, her brother Charles Thomas Dickinson, her first husband Ray P. Bankston, Sr., and her second husband Marnell A. Segura Sr.

She is survived by her nephew Dennis L. Dickinson, II, (Cindy), niece Karen Dickinson, and sister-in-law Gena Dickinson as well as generations of loving Bankston and Segura “grandchildren”.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 9:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

During her last several years Blanche was attended daily by loving companions Cecelia, Diana, Ty’Amber, Rachel and Marsha and words cannot express our appreciation.  The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Casey Carlisle and Dr. Keith Kellum for their tender care.  We also want to give a special thanks for the gentle care given by Hospice of Baton Rouge in helping Blanche make the transition from this earth to Heaven so peacefully.
