Bill Golleher of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 77 years old. Bill was born and raised in Carlisle, Arkansas where he was surrounded by his large and loving family and moved to Baton Rouge as a young adult. It was in his beloved Baton Rouge where he built his life and opened his home to his many friends and family. He loved John Wayne, playing his guitar and yelling at his LSU Tigers. His greatest joy were his grandkids. He loved spending time with them, teaching them to ride bikes and being their “Duke”.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 46 years, Frances Day Golleher; his mother, Allie Golleher Staggs; his beloved Aunt and Uncle, Ed and Gin Golleher; and his adored Father and Mother-In-Law, Bill and Mimi Day.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Bruce Harvie of Alexandria, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Lauren Golleher of Baton Rouge, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Vicky Golleher of Columbia, MO. “Duke” is also survived by his four adoring grandchildren, Sadie Caroline Golleher, Grayson Day Harvie, William Day Golleher and Adeline Stratford Harvie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who also loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 12:30 PM until service in the chapel at 2:30 PM, conducted by Deacon Chauvin Wilkinson. Interment to be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
