Billy Ray Corbin Sr., a resident of Gonzales, left this earth on April 15, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Hales Corbin; Daughters: Linda Strickland (Larry); Billie Tripp (Terry); and Dorothy Simmons (David); Six grandchildren: Kelley Bourque (Boyd); J.J. Baker (Jenny); Travis Baker (Amanda); Derek Townsend; Travis Tripp (Debbie); and Daniene Guichard (Rudy); 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Ronny Corbin; a sister, Oma Wheeler.
Preceded in death by parents: Jack and Nancy Corbin; a son, Billy R. (Bill) Corbin, Jr.; a granddaughter, Kimberly Corbin Baker; and ten siblings.
He retired from Local 406, Operating Engineers. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and cooking. In his later years, he enjoyed gospel music, praising the Lord, and looked forward to eternal life with his Lord and Savior.
Funeral Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Tuesday, April 19.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with funeral services following at 11:00. Funeral service to be led by J. J. Baker, his grandson.
Pallbearers will be Larry Strickland, Terry Tripp, David Simmons, Travis Baker, Derek Townsend, and Joshua Baker.
