Billie Schindler

She was born in Minden, Louisiana December 30, 1921. Mom met the love of her life Thomas W. Schindler in 1940 and spent the next 59 years with him until his death in 1999. Billie Jean was a loving and devoted mother, not only to her children, but to all who entered her home.

She was survived by her daughter and caregiver, Jan Normand sons, Bill Schindler Trish of Wilson, LA. and John Schindler Jean Roberts of Vestavia Hills, AL. six grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom and granddaughter, Vivian. Her granddaughter, Stephanie Barnes of San Marcos, TX. has spent the past 6 months in Baton Rouge helping her mother, Jan Normand as caregiver.

Mom has been addicted to garage sales for over forty years and has never missed an opportunity to go fishing. The family would like to give special thanks to the hospice team of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care including Kimberly, Suzi, and Leon.

Memorial Service hours will be observed at University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Dr., Baton Rouge, 70802 on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
