Billie Roberts

alignjustifyA resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, while visiting her grandchildren. She was 75 and a native of Plain Dealing. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home chapel, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon James Wax. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Francis M. Roberts; daughter, Michelle Manuel and fianc Keith Williams, Denham Springs; son, Geoffrey Roberts and wife Kerry, of Edmond, Okla.; three sisters, Ruth Tuminello, Sidney Hancock and husband Phillip, and Pauline Parker, all of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Amanda Manuel and Jason Manuel, both of Baton Rouge, Danielle Roberts and Emily Roberts, both of Edmond; and special friend, Jeanette Blanchard and husband Sidney, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by her parents, Press and Gladys Nix; two brothers, Earl and Ray Nix; and two sisters, May Hayes and Martha Anderson. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Mercy Hospital, co Palliative Care Program, 4300 W. Memorial Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
