Beverly Faught Weld passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the age of 87. She was born in Wichita, KS to William and Alice (Peterson) Faught. She moved to Pauls Valley, OK where she attended high school and married the love of her life, John Weld. She was very active in the community and assisted with children’s special needs at the local state school. Additionally, she was the Garvin County, OK Girl’s Scout Counsel Leader for many years before moving to Monahans, TX, where she pursued her ASCP Registry and ran a hospital laboratory. She was very involved in her church, leading many Bible studies, women’s groups, and Sunday School classes, where she was able to lead many to the Lord. After retiring to Baton Rouge, LA she became a published author writing a book and numerous devotionals. She and her husband John have been a member of First Presbyterian Church on North Blvd. since 1987 and they dedicated many hours of service to their Church during their golden years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John Weld; children, Suzanne Cambre and husband Daryl and Michelle Lacombe; grandchildren, John Weld Cambre and wife Amy, and Anthony Robert Lacombe; great-grandchildren, Eliza, Louisa, and Adelaide Cambre.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Hospice of Baton Rouge and the staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center for their care, love, and support.
