Beverly Jan Cooley Triche passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born in DeRidder, Louisiana to Lloyd Cooley and Mable Alice Blackwell Cooley Bourque. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Harold Bourque. Beverly was an alumna of both Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State University. Having received her master’s degree in education, she devoted her entire career to the children of West Baton Rouge Parish. Her tenure included years as a teacher, school administrator and culminated as their school superintendent. Beverly was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her ‘other mother’ aunt, Virginia Blackwell Campbell; her husband of 48 years, Archie Triche; and their ‘furbabies’: Jolette, Bitsy, Arthur, Jake, Angel Minerva, Meagan, Nicole, Molly, Katy, Jene, Magnolia, Roscoe, Butterbean, Mattie, Toontsey, BoyCat, George, BabyCat, SissyCat and many others – as it was important for her to be recognized for their wonderful contributions to her world. Beverly is survived by her sister-in-law and caregiver, Wendy Peavy (Robert); her brother-in-law Woody Triche (fiancée Annette); and her nieces and nephews, Jesse Peavy (Brandi), Trish Bezet (Chuck); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Savannah Rayburn (Mikey), Emily Bezet and Beau Peavy; and great-great nephew, Easton Bezet. She is also survived by her longtime, close friends Alden Chustz (Joyce) and by her faithful “furry’ companions, Abby and Andrew.
A Private Graveside Service will be held for the family at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
For those so desiring and in lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Beverly C. Triche may be made to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
