Beverly Honey Helmke Phenix, native and resident of Baton Rouge, La passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the age of 80.
Honey graduated from Woodlawn High School class of 1952 as Valedictorian. She was an Office Manager for over 30 years for The Orthopedic Clinic. She was a volunteer at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, a member of Therisans, and loved to follow her grandkids to all of their sports games.
Honey is survived by her children and their spouses, Diane and Denis Bertrand, David Keith Phenix, and Bryan and Geanette Phenix, Sr. grandchildren, Eric Lockhart, Lori Lockhart and fianc Derrick Profit, Neal Lockhart, Adam Bertrand, Alex Bertrand, Leah Phenix, and Bryan Phenix, Jr. great grandchildren, Torie, Hunter, Ryder, Angele, Austin, Alaina, Jara, Beau, Phenix, and Baryn brothers, James Jimmy Helmke and Donald Helmke and wife Carolyn and sister, Shirley Gremillion.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, David S. Phenix parents, Henry and Lillian Sevier Helmke, Sr. and brother, Henry Michael Helmke, Jr.
Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will resume on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 8:00 am until funeral service at 10:00 am.
