A devoted mother, loving wife, beloved sister and trusted friend, she died Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Hospice of Baton Rouge Inpatient Unit. She was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Liberty, Miss., and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired bookkeeper previously employed with Commercial Properties Development Corp. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at St. George Catholic Church on Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Michael Schatzle. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Granier Jr.; daughter, Paige Granier Hertko and husband Gregory Hertko, of Chicago; son, Dr. Jay P. Granier and wife Elizabeth Fontenot, of Greenville, N.C.; three sisters, Maxine Randall, Gulfport, Miss., Mary Randall, Vicksburg, Miss., and Bonita Luper and husband Scott, of Tylertown, Miss.; two brothers, Dennis Bowlin, of Houston, and Roger Bowlin and wife Nancy, of Denham Springs; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.H. Bowlin and Ruby Bowlin; a sister, Cathie Bowlin; and two brothers, Elwood and Bobby Bowlin. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Michael, Gary, Neil and Marty Randall, Peter Bowlin, and brother-in-law, Richard Granier. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Bowlin and nephew, Chandler Mangum.
