Betty Rusk

Betty Oldham Rusk passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the age of 81. She is survived by husband, Henry, of 62 years, her children and their spouses Susan Rusk McElwee and husband, Kenny, of Frankfort, KY, Candy Rusk Jones and husband, Tracy, of Baton Rouge, Danny Rusk and wife, Julie, of Shelbyville, KY, and daughterinlaw, Lynn Valin Rusk, of Erwinville. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kellie and Kristie Lee, Chris Jones and wife, Tara Grace, Ashley Rusk Montagnino and husband Brandon, Brandon and Nicholas Rusk, and Jason Seymour, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Faye Childers, and a brother, James Kirk. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Vera Kirk, son, Mike, and great grandchild, Heather Weber. Betty was a devoted wife, adored her family, and found great joy in being with them. She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed preparing meals for others in need. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 22 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with services immediately following. Dr. David L. Womack, former pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church will conduct the service. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Sherwood Baptist Church in Baton Rouge in lieu of flowers.
