Betty Norder

As our Lord's scripture states, "Come to me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest", Matthew 11:28. Mom has gone home!

Betty Arbour Norder of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the age of 87 surrounded by loved ones.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Agnes Arbour; her siblings, Buddy Arbour, Roy Arbour, Lorraine Pourciau, Vera Robertson, Jimmy Arbour; and her loving husband, William D. Norder Sr. (Donald) that has been patiently awaiting her arrival in heaven for 28 years.

Betty was a God loving devout Catholic all of her life and active Parishioner in many church parishes across Baton Rouge including St. Anthony, St. Pius, St. Patrick, and St. Alphonsus.

In addition to many friends and loved ones, she was the proud mother of five children, Donna Breaux and Tim, Stephen and Cheryl Norder, Stephanie and Sidney Scardina, William D. Jr. and Linda Norder, Jeffrey Norder and Melody. She also has many grandchildren including, Danielle and Ryan Marcantel, Chad Norder, Justin Norder, Brooke and Matt Bridges, Brittany and Jess Lynn, Brenton Scardina and Brooke Blackshear, Keri Norder and Emmit Cazes, Christian Nettles and Allie Marionneaux, and Christina Robinson. Betty also has several great grandchildren including, Mason and Madison Methvin and Micah Marcantel, Chase Norder, Avery and Wesley Bridges, Emery and Reece Lynn, Brelyn Robinson, and Gracie Meliet.

The family would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful care-givers, Earleen Methvin, Taylor Condrey, and Kathy Chambers as well as Hospice of Baton Rouge for their wonderful care!

Pallbearers will be Brenton Scardina, Chad Norder, Justin Norder, Emmit Cazes, Jess Lynn, Matt Bridges, Christian Nettles, and Ryan Marcantel.

Services will be Sunday, June 17th from 5:00 to 9:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, La. 70816 and funeral service at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, La. 70739 Monday, June 18th beginning at 9:30am followed by Mass at 11:00am. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery following the Mass.
