Betty Rockett Kilpatrick, of Baton Rouge, LA, was called home to heaven on March 3, 2017. Betty was ready to be with her Savior Jesus Christ and her husband of 59 years, Bobby. Her life is a testament of her love of Christ, hard work and the joy of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Dr. Kevin and Sharon Kilpatrick of Baton Rouge, LA, Kathy and Roy O. Martin of Alexandria LA, Barry and Leslie Kilpatrick of Baton Rouge, LA, and Daryl and Debbie Kilpatrick of Jupiter, Florida. They are blessed with 10 grandchildren, Sarah Kilpatrick Wylie and husband Richard, Christopher Roy Martin and wife Elizabeth, Dr. David Kilpatrick and wife Nancy, Laura Martin Hollier and husband John, Ben Kilpatrick and his wife Emily Springett Kilpatrick, Emily Anne Kilpatrick, Matthew Kilpatrick, Justin Kilpatrick, Erin Kilpatrick and Brandon Kilpatrick. She had three great grandchildren, Evangeline Wylie, Isabella Wylie and Robert Kilpatrick.
The Lord blessed her with highly successful grandchildren and she was extremely proud of them. She claims three doctors, one nurse practitioner, two masters of accounting, one MBA/ Engineer, one architect, one computer engineer, and one computer scientist. All of these graduates have their degrees from LSU and LSU Medical school. Betty graduated with a Home Economics degree from Northeast Louisiana University and earned her master's degree in Childhood Development from LSU. She began her career working with the LSU 4 H program, where she met her husband Bobby Kilpatrick. She spent the next 20 years teaching early childhood development in the East Baton Rouge Parish School system. She was an active and dedicated member of University Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir, participated in Mothers' Prayer group, and mentored UBC's Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) for many years. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother. She provided her family with an environment where everyone flourished, and everyone felt that they were her favorite. She was a beloved mentor for her Child Development students as she received many calls and letters from them over the years testifying how she positively shaped their lives. Betty was universally loved by everyone who knew her, and all who came in contact with this great lady gained from the experience.
Besides her cherished husband, Bobby Kilpatrick, Betty is also survived by her sister, Mary Alice Rockett O'Quinn of Clinton, Arkansas. She is proceeded in death by her sister, Hilda Rockett Branch and her brothers Don, Ralph and Richard Rockett.
On Friday, she passed peacefully with all of her children by her side.

Visitation will be held at University Baptist Church ( UBC) , 5775 Highland Road, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Visitation will resume on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from12:30 pm until the Funeral Services at 2:00 pm.
