Betty Jacobs

A devoted wife, loving and adoring mother and grandmother, she passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the age of 77. She was a native of Oak Grove, LA, where after high school she became a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a retired school bus driver with over thirty years with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, over 28 years of dedicated service as a Board Trustee with the Louisiana School Employees Retirement System LSERS, owner of B S Food Service and volunteer work through the years. Mother had a beautiful smile that shown on so many with a very optimistic soul. Betty is survived by her only daughter, Carla Marie Jacobs Parent, soninlaw, Brian Joseph Parent, Sr., grandson, Brian Joseph Parent, Jr. and fianc, Emily Innes and greatgranddaughter, Gabriella Jane Gradine. She is also survived by her brother, Willis Melvin Bradley and wife Norma of Strong, AR sister, Marilyn Bradley Davis and husband Roger Kent sisterinlaw, Brenda Bradley of Oak Grove, LA and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Sam Jacobs, Sr. her only beloved son, Samuel Jacobs, Jr., her parents, Robert Clifton Bradley and Ida Lavelle Watts Bradley of Oak Grove, LA sister, Doris Bassett brotherinlaw, Sartis sister, Margaret McFarlin brotherinlaw, Ben and brother, Jimmy Bradley. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 5 pm to 8 pm and will resume at the funeral home on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 10 am until funeral service at 11 am.
