Betty Butler Brock passed away in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on October 28, 2024, at the age of 94 and enjoyed a long, happy and healthy life. She was a resident of Baton Rouge for 46 years. In great health for her age, dementia progressively took her memory.
Betty was a career banker. She started at Washington Bank in Franklinton and was a founding officer of First National Bank of Wiggins, MS, before becoming a Vice President at both American and Hancock-Whitney of Baton Rouge to conclude her 45 years in banking. She was a caring employer, coworker, friend and neighbor, and a loving and devoted mother. Betty loved animals. Lily, her 16-year-old cat was her favorite. She was a member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Walter and Steve Brock, both of Baton Rouge, and her niece, Gloria Leuenberger of Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Myra Butler, husband, Sidney Brock, niece Kathy Bridges, all of Franklinton, and her sister, Eleanor Bridges of Gulfport.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton, LA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Cat Haven of Baton Rouge at 11130 N Harrells Ferry Road or to the charity of your choice.
