Betty Beck

Betty Schmidt Beck BB, native of New Orleans, La and resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 45 years, before returning to Gonzales, La. She passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the age of 82. Visitation will be held at St. Annes Catholic Church on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 8:30 am until religious service at 11 am. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Edwin Lee Beck two daughters and sonsinlaw, Leslie and Bill Whittle, and Lee Ann and Jonathan White one son and daughterinlaw, Jed and Debi Beck one sister, Carol Bossier and six grandchildren, Blake Whittle, Lauren Whittle, Alexandra White, Luc Armstrong, Barrett White, and Trey Beck. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Clementine Jourdan Schmidt and sister, Audrey Shaffer. Betty was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico and a member of St. Annes Catholic Church in St. Amant, La. She loved music, dancing, animals, and travel. Through her love for animals she was active in wildlife rescue and the Animal Humane Society. Betty was very active in her community, The Greens of Pelican Point. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She looked forward to being GG to her great grandson Bentley Whittle. Bettys larger than life personality lit up any room she walked into. She loved to live and loved to laugh and she was dearly loved and adored by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Animal Humane Society.
