Bernadette Kray

Bernadette Bernie Kray, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, born August 4, 1944, entered the presence of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday September 21, 2014. She had a beautiful Christian faith and a tremendous love for life itself. She was an avid cook, gardener, seamstress, decorator and counselor with a deep love for children especially her grandchildren, Paige, Gabe and Alex Landry. She was a licensed counselor at the Grief Recovery Center and also worked with individuals, couples and families. She loved nature, photography, music, reading, and developed a love for water color painting in the past two years.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey John Landry grandchildren, Paige Madison, Gabriel Austin, and Alexander Nevan Landry brothers, Leslie L. Rodrigue and Kenneth J. Rodrigue sisterinlaw, Wanda Rodrigue nieces and nephews, David Rodrigue, Debra Rodrigue, Kevin Rodrigue, Anita Bankston, Brian Rodrigue, Todd Rodrigue, Scott Rodrigue and a lifetime friend, Peggy Broussard. She is preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Virgil Kray her parents, Stan and Edna Rodrigue her grandparents and her nephew Daniel Rodrigue.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge, her devoted sitters, especially Gail Charles, and Virgina Thibodeaux, the numerous friends, and especially friends of Bill W. who assisted throughout her illness. A special thanks goes to Brother Carl Bouchereau, S.J., Rev. Jim Sawyer, and Fr. Mike Schatzle for their love and support.

Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Visiting hours will resume at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday September 25, 2014 at 11:00am until service time. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the OBrien House, 1231 Laurel Street, Baton Rouge, LA. 70802, in Bernadette Krays name.
